On August 27th, in the middle of the supposed dry
season, we had the first real snow I’ve seen in Carhuamayo. Not thunder hail, not crazy frost, for real
flaky fluffy snow. I got Elka out on an
early morning dog walk.
Unfortunately, as the day went on it got to 32.1 degrees and
began to pour the coldest rain imaginable.
I had to go out to do some work with the health post, and this is how I
dressed.
I had on a tshirt, thermal, heavy fleece, raincoat, scarf,
hat, and two pairs of pants. It looks
like I stuck my head in Predator’s mouth.
